28 Jun 2008, New theme! The main site has had an overhaul. First off it's now possible to display random logos at the top, and second there's a few new image and color changes. If you have a CSS capable browser, such as OWB, you'll see some new background images here and there. If you want to submit your own top logo, then use the Contact page to get in touch with us and we'll fill you in with the details. 28 Jun 2008, If you haven't noticed, the contact page has been updated with some new ways of contacting OS4Depot.net staff. 18 Sep 2007, Just as a reminder to all uploaders. Do not obfuscate the email address OS4Depot will obfuscate the email address for you. If the os4depot.net obfuscating algorithm isn't good enough for you then mark the hide email checkbox on the submit page. When obfuscating your email address yourselves the only thing that happens is that our admins has to deobfuscate the address before approving the file. 07 Jan 2007, OS4Depot will no longer verify the authenticity of uploads that does not use a passphrase. Which means that if you don't specify a passphrase your file can be replaced by anyone and a new passphrase can be set without your control. This change is done because all too many either specify an invalid email address or do not reply to the mail sent out to verify the upload. 26 Dec 2006, I would like to welcome Johan Samuelsson (spotUP) as a new OS4Depot staff member! Welcome to the staff Johan! /Orgin 03 Dec 2006, You can now use the forums on Amigans.net to get in contact with OS4Depot staff. OS4depot feedback forum 08 Nov 2006, The main OS4Depot server is down. We've been moving the site temporarely to the us mirror while we fix the main server. The DNS entries might take some time to propagate to everyone, but should happen everywhere within a day or so. Sincere apologies for any confusion caused while moving the site. 30 Sep 2006, Since there has been some comments on aminet uploading, we're making the following statement on this issue. Aminet cross uploading will not enabled until the following three things happen: 1. Aminet makes a public apology to the community for their behavior, both for recent and past actions. And, when cross uploading files from OS4Depot that was not originally approved for uploading to aminet, promise to: 2. always verify with the original uploader that cross uploading is okey. 3. always state in the readme file that the file was uploaded by aminet personnel and not by the original uploader. This will ensure three things, first that Aminet will be able to openly explain and take responsibility for what they have done both recently and in the past, secondly that the original uploader knows what happens to their files and thirdly that OS4Depot will not be accused of uploading files to aminet that it was not supposed to upload there. 27 Sep 2006, Aminet cross uploading has been removed. The aminet admins uploads everything on os4depot to aminet anyway so there's no point for os4depot to maintain and administrate that functionality any more. If your file does not end up on aminet then contact the aminet administrators. OS4 Depot is a work in progress site and thus all features we have in mind are not yet in place. Such as FTP download, FTP upload, cross uploading to aminet and so on. We'll add things step for step, so be patient while our services slowly mature.
