Unreal (1998) ported to run natively on AmigaOS4 This is an unofficial, non-commercial fan port - it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Epic Games - Unreal, the Unreal Engine, and all related assets are the property of Epic Games. This archive does NOT contain any original Unreal game data (textures, maps, sounds, etc) - you need your own legally obtained copy of Unreal to use this port - this port itself is not sold; optional donations are welcome but never required - that said, donations genuinely make a difference in whether future projects like this one happen at all Shared for preservation and hobbyist interest only. Based on the open community source fork: https://github.com/fgsfdsfgs/UE1 Installation: Run the "Install" icon in this drawer (uses the official AmigaOS4 Installation Utility) - it will ask for the root folder of your original Unreal CD or mounted ISO and copy the required game data into place automatically Changes in this version (1.2): Fixed fullscreen mode not saving/restoring correctly Rebuilt the installer with the official AmigaOS4 Installation Utility; manual copying also supported now Package layout now matches the original game (System drawer holds engine files, data drawers at the root) Fixed big-endian package loading Static linking of driver packages (NSDLDrv, NOpenALDrv, etc) Rewritten threading support for stable audio Various rendering fixes Build optimization pass (O3 + LTO) Known issues: Fullscreen at exactly your desktop resolution may open behind Workbench on some systems - this appears to be system-specific: it has been confirmed working fine on other AmigaOS4 machines - if it happens to you, using a different resolution than your desktop resolution avoids it for now Lighting driver bug in the GLES2 renderer: FPS occasionally drops to around 30 in scenes with many light effects Tested exclusively on: AmigaOne X5000 with Radeon RX580 Average ~60 FPS, dropping to ~30 FPS in scenes with heavy lighting (see known issues above) Feedback and bug reports welcome via the Amigans.net thread linked above Credits / thanks: Bazill and BSzili, for the big-endian fixes and other work this port builds on Walkero, for the AmigaOS4 cross-compilation toolchain and Docker build environment used to build this port kas1e, for the detailed bug reports that led to most of the fixes in this release Everyone in the Amiga developer community who builds and maintains the tools that make projects like this possible | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
