I don't know the state of it, but the one which comes with NetSurf shouldn't be overwritten by this one AFAIK.

If it has custom functionality why is it installed into global SOBJS: instead of PROGDIR: or PROGDIR:SObjs? In any case it doesn't stop anyone from using the static libraries.

NetSurf versions prior to 2.5 use libhpdf with the same soname but additional functionality.
