They are extra functions which are due to be added (or have been added) in libharu trunk but have not made a proper release.  I don't know the state of it, but the one which comes with NetSurf shouldn't be overwritten by this one AFAIK.

If it has custom functionality why is it installed into global SOBJS: instead of PROGDIR: or PROGDIR:SObjs? In any case it doesn't stop anyone from using the static libraries.

I would be very careful when using this, as - unless things have changed - the official build is not fully compatible with the NetSurf build of this shared object.  NetSurf versions prior to 2.5 use libhpdf with the same soname but additional functionality.
