The dtdesc GUI has the menu item "Save Descriptor as Text...". MakeDTdesc will read the text file to produce a descriptor. There is an example command line for MakeDTdesc in MakeDTdesc.doc which is:
makeDTdesc aiff_def.txt ram:AIFF VERSTAG aiff.datatype_rev.h

Please read the included documentation.

I noticed that the GUI tool seems to produce Descriptors directly...
and there is no included examples for the "MakeDTdesc" tool?

is it similar to the MakeDT Rexx script on Aminet?
