I was helping someone with Hollywood coding, and RNOPDF came as a side product :) Then I thought that maybe it's better to release it than be left forgotten as a source code clip somewhere, and it also works as a better introduction to Hollywood coding when it's been released as a complete program. RNOPDF doesn't use MUI like RNOComics, so I was also be able to port it on more platforms... and as this is about as light program as possible, I compiled it for 68k too, to see comments from that platform that is it usable and wanted. I haven't tried to compile RNOComics to 68k if it'd run acceptable there, but in any case memory requirements are lower for RNOPDF so it's better suitable for more restricted 68k systems. Anyway, isn't it better to have more choices? Some users may prefer more simplier approach, and some more comprehensive packages, feel free to choose :)

Was there any reasson to release rnopdf, if rnocomics are the same but better ?:)

jPV (84.248.12.149) @ 02 Dec 2018, 05:16.50

By: jPV (84.248.12.149)

Thanks for confirming that it's the path name issue.

As said in the readme and the source code, this was just a programming example which evolved as a little but somehow useful program. I don't know how much I'm going to improve it, maybe with all bells and whistles some day, maybe not, we'll see :)

If you want a GUI with navigating and zooming buttons, scrolling, fullscreen mode, etc, please install RNOComics, because it already has all those features and it uses the very same engine to read PDF files. I don't know if it's worth making duplicate effort for this little program, which is more for quick previewing of documents and example of tight and portable program.

So, little point of improving this for OS4, because RNOComics is already available, but sure I'll consider if there would be demand for other platforms...

Tested from WORK: yes, all works.

But some kind of toolbar need it for sure , like that one where you can press zoom, go down/up. Also scrollbar for all the document can be handy to, so one can see size of document, and navigate more easy. But it works when run not from RAM:

jPV (84.248.12.149) @ 02 Dec 2018, 09:46.04

By: jPV (84.248.12.149)

The problem with Polybios plugin is that it finds the polybios.hwp file from the progdir (Hollywood first looks into progdir and only then LIBS:Hollywood if a plugin isn't found), but then it can't load the special polybios.ext file if the path has spaces (like "Ram Disk:" has). So it doesn't try to look from LIBS: anymore because it does find the actual plugin from the progdir and assumes that it could load the special polybios.ext file also from the same location.

So, unless someone can point any other problem here, I would call the case closed and we just have to wait for a Polybios update to get RNOPDF work from paths with spaces. Until then it should work perfectly fine if you copy it to the HD to a path that doesn't contain spaces.

So, if you run it from, for example, ram disk ("Ram Disk:") it'll fail. But there is probably still something hazy with OS4 betas, and it probably works if you have polybios.hwp and polybios.ext in Libs:Hollywood/ _and_ both removed from the program dir. More feedback regarding this would be welcome.

There is already polybios.hwp and polybios.ext inside the RNOPDF_OS4 archive.

Maybe it's picking up the wrong version for you?
