I'll have to look into it. As for the libcurl library package though, I'd like to keep that using OpenSSL for easy portability/compatibility with other programs.

I really thought it was there before, but I probably simply cURLed http sites instead. 
 
Anyway, working great with my scripts now, completely dropping the --cacert flag.

I'm not sure if it was ever supported before. It's also just on the curl binary, since it needed -lunix to work.

Global use of certificates are back, no more --cacert switch on secure sites :-)

When trying to download my mails on a imap mailbox with 
 
curl -v 'imap://userid:password@imap.server.url/INBOX/;uid=1' 
 
I obtain 
 
* Protocol 'imap not supported or disabled in libcurl 
* Closing connection -1 
curl: (1) Protocol 'imap not supported or disabled in libcurl 
 
It was the same with the previous version.
