That may be true, but since there wasn't an update to AmiUpdate for a long time (using 2.35) it will be still placed in SYS:System/AmiUpdate for many users...until FE comes along.

well... amiupdate is now an official part of os4. so the catalog should be placed into sys:locale (IMHO!!) and no longer in the progdir folder. 
additionally the update prefs program is placed in sys:prefs and as such will not be able to find the german catalog in the amiupdate progdir... so for the update program the catalog already requires to be copied to sys:locale. so better place all of the catalogs there. 
 
nevertheless i screwed up the autoinstaller. it actually dod not copy the main catalog at all :-( 
so i just reuploaded a fixed version.

AmiUpdate tries to install the file to 
SYS:locale/german/amiupdate.catalog 
while all other translation files are placed into 
SYS:System/AmiUpdate/catalogs/german/

I have added an AutoInstall script, and added these files to the Downloads page of www.amiupdate.net. 
 
I have also added it to the database so that automatic updates can be performed.
