See if autoplay works. Maybe the playback URLs expired quickly (sometimes only 30 seconds before expiry) or there's been other changes. Try ANDROIDVR or ANDROID options.

Looks like websafari might not be fixable. There might be some other way to make Emotion work with higher than 360p, but it wouldn't be compatible with seeking. As for VideoVortex, it'd probably need an update if it's running Emotion directly rather than using the script's AutoPlay feature.

I'll send you an email.

There are currently problems with YT via Odyssey and also VideoVortex. This is my configuration that has always worked for me.

PClient=WEBSAFARI /* See docs for available player client options */
/* Examples: TV, MWEB, ANDROID, IOS and more */

PlayMode=3 /* See documentation for available playback modes 1-3 */
/* This option only applies to HLS links */

TagOrder=301 300 96 95 37 46 636 635 18 93 92 232 230 229 /* 360p */ 301 30
/* 720p/360p/240p (HLS / Live HLS) */
/* 720p/360p/240p (IOS HLS) */

/* Temporary settings for DUALPLAY only */
DashTagVid=136 /* Set DASH video tag. Use 136 for 720p */
DashTagAud=140 /* Set DASH audio tag.                  */

PathMP=APPDIR:emotion /* Full path to MPlayer executable */
PathFP=APPDIR:ffplay /* Full path to FFplay executable */
ArgsMP= /* Optional parameters for mplayer */
ArgsFP=-loglevel quiet -framedrop -infbuf /* Optional parameters for ffplay */

At the moment we are probably no longer able to play HLS streams via Emotion/MPlayer.

It looks for Tools/curl first though, which is bundled in the archive and would only be missing if it was moved or deleted. I didn't expect anyone to have any issue with the way it works now. Is there a good reason to change it?

Again check 5th Dec 2021 comments below. One of them I said I made a mistake in saying it was configurable, but js and curl are bundled anyway, so it will find those even if you removed APPDIR: from the PATH. The mplayer and ffplay path is configurable. ffmpeg path isn't, but that's only used if you use option 2 for PlayMode and hardcoded to APPDIR:ffmpeg so it should still work with that too!

BTW where in YT.cfg is such "path" configuration? I only see path for the players, not for curl and js.

To fix I changed the following line:

IF ~Exists("T:YT") THEN ADDRESS COMMAND "MakeDir T:YT"

Had to take out the / after YT. Then it works great.

If you use the "Play Video" option in shell, there's an experimental option where mplayer streams from STDIN. I've been slack on getting 1.5 out. If you've noticed some videos not working, those should be working again when 1.5 is out, but I probably won't be able to force plain HTTP anymore. That's hit and miss now.
