| Compression WILL slow things down and it's explained in the guide.

Why? What would be the use of it?

"If possible having one big compressed file archive with every module inside to
 speed up loading"

Are you sure that decompression of modules will not slow down loading in the end? Perhaps some sort of file "merging" will give faster results, but i don't think compression is a good idea.

| AFAIR it's kernel that get's the out of memory error.

| About the low memory problem: it's a problem within SLB and UBoot. Unfortunately the heap size
is limited at compile time in UBoot, and what is happening is that a compressed
 module needs more.
What is the module giving the error ? I suppose it's Kernel or something big.

| thanks. compressing does not work for all modules - i get a too low memory problem then
 from slb.
also booting compressed modules is *very* slow

| No need to send the log, I'll fix the bug ASAP.
About compressing to a single file archive: it's not supported by SLB.

| one bug: start it. don't load a kickstart file. just select "create compressed
copy" from the menu -> this gives a GR.
i can send the log if needed.

 that would be nice!
currently the kickstart module loading seems to be quite slow (visually
speaking) - it takes 3-5 seconds iirc to load all of them. why is that so long?
isn't it "just" 1-2mb of code "loading"?
 i'm just curious.
