Xash3D-FWGS engine port with full Half-Life 1 support for AmigaOS4 Description: Xash3D-HalfLife is a native AmigaOS4 port of the Xash3D-FWGS engine (a modern, open-source re-implementation of Valve's GoldSrc engine) with full support for playing Half-Life 1, and partial support for the official expansions Opposing Force and Blue Shift. This package includes: The Xash3D-FWGS engine, natively compiled for AmigaOS4/PPC StartXash, a ReAction GUI launcher for choosing renderer, resolution, display mode, language and game/mod folder A graphical, page-based installer (Installation Utility / package.py based) that copies the engine bundle and your own Half-Life game data into one ready-to-play folder Native AmigaOS4 game libraries (hl.so, opfor.so, bshift.so, client.so) for Half-Life, Opposing Force and Blue Shift Multiple renderer backends: GLES2 (HQ, Warp3D Nova), gl4es, MiniGL and a pure software renderer as universal fallback Optional support for HD model packs and HD wall/floor/ceiling texture packs (materials/common) Full AmigaGuide documentation (English/German) covering hardware recommendations, installation, renderer choice, HD packs, mods/expansions and licensing IMPORTANT - you need your own copy of Half-Life: This package does NOT include any Half-Life game data. Xash3D-FWGS is only an engine; you must supply a legally owned copy of Half-Life yourself. Supported sources are: Half-Life via Steam (current version) - recommended, fully supported The original retail PC CD version, patched to v1.1.1.0 - fully supported Old, unpatched WON-era retail CDs (the original 1998/1999 boxed CD before any updates) use an older liblist.gam/pak0.pak format and are NOT fully supported, even with workarounds. Simply copy the "valve" folder (and valve_german / valve_hd if present) from an existing Windows or Mac installation onto the Amiga (USB stick or network share) and point the installer at it. Hardware / renderer recommendations: AmigaOne X5000 + Radeon RX 580 GLES2 (HQ) or gl4es - best quality AmigaOne X1000 GLES2 or gl4es (Nova) Sam460 / classic AmigaOne / Pegasos II MiniGL, Software fallback QEMU Software renderer, or -ati-vga Mods and expansions: valve Half-Life fully supported via installer gearbox Half-Life: Opp. Force Amiga libs included, copy Steam/retail expansion data yourself bshift Half-Life: Blue Shift Amiga libs included, copy Steam/retail expansion data yourself Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic and Ricochet are not supported yet. Licensing: The Xash3D-FWGS engine is licensed under the GNU GPL v3. Third-party components (SDL2, gl4es, Opus/Ogg/Vorbis, bzip2, fonts) are under their own respective licenses; see licenses/README.txt after installation for the full list. Half-Life game data itself remains the property of Valve and is not redistributed with this package - you must own a legal copy.
